Driving Tuition in the French Alps
In October 2009 Stuart received an invitation from the owners of Snow Focus a large privately owned chalet in Chatel, which is in the Portes Du Soleil ski area in the French Alps, to instruct their staff to drive safely in the snow and ice.
As a result he went out to Chatel in December 2009 for a week-end of driving tuition, and also a bit of ski-ing.
Sue Stevenson and her partner AT Cook wanted the four members of their staff who would be ferrying clients around in a number of different vehicles to receive training in driving in snow and icy conditions. The picture to the right shows the staff with a 4 x 4 Ssangyong Rexton. They were also using a Renault Trafic minibus and a 4 x 4 Renault Scenic. They all received 2 days of instruction in snow and on ice covered roads and were each granted a certificate to recognise their achievements.
Sue informed me at the end of the skiing season that this had been the first year that there had been no accidents involving their staff driving around the resort and to Geneva. As a result I again went to Chatel where I gave instruction to 6 members of staff, and once again they all received certificates.
