Roads Ahead Driving School

You will receive tuition from Stuart on a one to one basis, in a Vauxhall Corsa 1.3 CDTI. The tuition vehicle is fitted with air conditioning, electric front windows and mirrors which all add to the comfort and ease of continually changing drivers. Roads Ahead Driving School will help you to pass the test and drive safely with fully structured training to keep you on track and ensure maximum value. You will receive supportive coaching, with a challenging approach.
The Roads Ahead Driving School method will help you to recognize your strengths and weaknesses and show you the best way to accelerate your progress. All training is based on your individual needs and my main priority is to help you to become a safe, responsible and courteous driver as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Most lessons are of 1 hour duration; however the first 3 or 4 lessons are normally for 2 hours to enable new drivers to get a 'feel' for the car and actually being on the road. I am a professional instructor, and you will be given caring and patient tuition.

There will be some light hearted banter in the car which I have found helps to put the new driver at ease as it is hard enough learning to drive without the added pressure of meeting and taking instruction from a 'stranger'.
I will pick you up at your home address, school, college, and workplace or anywhere within reason. You can end your lesson on the same basis.

Learner Drivers

From complete beginners to persons who have not yet passed their driving tests.

AT THE END OF EACH LESSON YOU WILL BE GIVEN FREE HANDOUTS DETAILING DETAILING WHAT YOU HAVE COVERED. THEY ARE A USEFUL REVISION TOOL WHICH WILL HELP YOU TO RETAIN THE KNOWLEDGE YOU HAVE NOW GAINED.

Theory Test Questions

I will supply you with three mock theory test question papers in the same format as on your test i.e multiple choice - 50 questions. I will supply you with question papers and then mark them when you return them to me. You will benefit from these if you treat them as a proper exam and do not look up the answers, but rely on your knowledge.

For persons who have passed their driving test but not driven for some time. I can help you return to the road with confidence.

Elderly Persons

Company Drivers

Do you own a company? Do you employ drivers? Are you happy with their standard of driving? Contact me for corporate driver training in your vehicles, including theory sessions, and written pyschometric tests of your drivers. This enables the driver, fleet manager etc to understand the different attitudes individuals have towards driving. This sort of training has been shown to lead to fewer accidents, cheaper insurance - reduce costs.

Motorway Driving

Do you dread going on the motorway, or find it very intimidating? If so let Stuart show you how to cope with the extra traffic and high speed of vehicles on these types of roads

Advanced Tuition (offering insurance discounts of upto 15%)

Receive Guidance on Advanced Driving techniques. Your driving will be assessed and then you will receive training in how to enhance your driving by using techniques that Stuart will show you that he has learned during his Police Driving career. He will give you a demonstration drive which will include a 'commentary' element. This is where the driver talks about what he can see and what they are doing about any developing situations around the car. After receiving training you will be asked to use commentary during a small part of your final drive. This is a 3hr session.

Why PASS PLUS was introduced

The Problem

Newly qualified drivers are much more vulnerable than they realise. Statistics show that new drivers are more likely to have an accident within their first two years of driving than any time.

• Two young people under 25 die every day in road crashes in Great Britain
• In their first year of driving one driver in five is involved in a crash
• It's not just about age. Newly qualified drivers are a higher than average risk whatever their age.
• Most drivers become safer by driving more miles and experiencing a wider variety of driving situations. However, with today's busy roads it is not enough to let new drivers learn by experience. Pass Plus gives new drivers the added skills to cope with the ever increasing traffic conditions.

I am registered on the Pass Plus Scheme.

This is a course of 6 hours extra training, giving the customer more experience at the wheel, thus reducing there insurance premium.

A list of participating insurers will be provided.

I can provide this as 3 x 2hr sessions or over one day (6hrs). On the one day course we will normally drive to Cleethorpes on the east coast, where we will stop for lunch, (my treat), usually fish & chips at a sea front cafe. We then return via Grimsby and the M180, M18 & M1 motorway's, providing much needed experience of these busy and much faster roads.

On completion of the six sessions to an 'achieved' or 'exceeded' standard, which is assessed continually, (no final exam) I will personally send the completed training form to the Driving Standards Agency Pass Plus Unit and they will send you your Pass Plus Certificate.
